black

black as the night as the night is your voice
and red as the patterns on dresses is your voice
all these things I’ve come to like and you are
more than the sum of the sides we make up more
don’t lose me
this is right where I said I would be
don’t lose me please
this is right where I said we should meet
black adds to black you combine all your darks
red is to show up the white just like your scarf
take away add and divide it’s all the same
chop you in peices and I’ll build you back again
black as the night as the night is your voice
and red as the patterns on dresses is your voice

some like scars
04:30
|
|||
you could do without the heartache
when you close your eyes
you can’t imagine nothing
that could take you by surprise
and over the mountains
you would run and you would climb
just to find me when I’m sleeping
and then bus it to real life
some like scars
do you
do you check your arms
for ones that are new
and everytime
I’ve cut you
it was not intentional
but it’s my mark on you
you should keep your self smiling
and think of things that keep
you safe and warm and mine
and then tie it up with string
there’s only hills not mountains
that rise up inbetween
and they cannot surrmount us
oh no can’t even compete
I like scars
yes I do
I check my arms
for ones that are new
and everytime
I’ve cut you
it was not intentional
but it’s my mark on you
they should see us together
they’d think it was a fight
we compete with jokes and stories, notes and letters
and keep it contained inside
a smile that says ‘it’s ok it’s forever’
some friendships never die
so we cut and hit and push and shove and then
we know it’s only ‘cause we know why
we like scars
yes we do
we check our arms
for ones that are new
and everytime
I’ve cut you
it was not intentional
but it’s my mark on you

invite you
03:01
|
|||
I invite you but you never come
you’re so full up but you’re still minus one
I aint saying I’m here for long
the train goes passing passing on
you can’t see past your walls that are safe
and I guess I’m pissed off at friends you’ve made
and I know it’s not my place to sing to you
I invite you but you never show
you’re not sure whether I’m stubbord or slow
maybe I’m a good bit of both but less than you
I invite you but maybe you can’t tell
and all this humour it serves me too well
I hope it becomes my place
to sing to you

stubborn and cruel
03:57
|
|||
take me weary body
and lay it by your side
all the comfort I need
is your hand and candle light
sometimes I'm not sure
if we're really alive
the fire and the hands and the bar
and the way they combine
take my heavy heartedness
and make it go away
give me all your worries dear
and let me ease that pain
sometimes I'm not sure
if I'm meant to be mine
maybe I am really yours
and I was all time
sometimes I'm not sure
if we'll ever die
I've got so stubborn and cruel
against saying goodbye
oh my love I don't know
I'm not sure where we will go
I've spent my pay on stubborn shoes
I've spend my time on learning to be cruel
to keep my mind from growing weak
so the cruelty of time won't move my feet
but you don't move me
I don't think I'll die
all my stubborn and cruel is against saying goodbye
